State University of Bangladesh (SUB) was established in 2002 under the Private University Act 1992, as amended in 1998. As an academic institution of higher education and learning, SUB had started its journey initially with a modest offering of some untested areas of health science.  This is how the term ‘trendsetter’ has become SUB’s qualifying appellation, and since then the term has characterized SUB’s main ambience and ethos. As the university kept growing, it started to expand its academic program manifold, and as of now there are 10 academic departments under 3 faculties and two more departments, Department of Data Science and Department of Music and Theatre Performance, have been proposed for approval to the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh.

The vision of the State University of Bangladesh (SUB) is to play a leading role in the realm of higher education by producing intelligent and skilled global citizens enriched with an agile mindset and cutting-edge knowledge.

CAMPUS

The University now operates exclusively from our permanent campus in Kanchan, South Purbachal, Dhaka. This world-class campus offers state-of-the-art facilities and on-campus accommodation for students, faculty, and staff. The campus is easily accessible by car or bus from anywhere in Dhaka City.

Our permanent campus provides a comprehensive range of academic and administrative buildings. These include classrooms, media labs, design studios, faculty offices, seminar rooms, a library, admissions, accounts, and spaces for guardians. The campus is equipped with a shuttle service for the convenience of students, faculty, and staff.

October 1st 2018, several departments have been conducting their academic activities at the Kanchan campus. Current facilities include a sporting zone, canteen, stationery shop, food court, a large open playground, and a 5000-square-foot open space for social and cultural activities.

To ensure a secure and convenient living environment, an on-campus 10-storey dormitory is under construction, providing students with a comfortable and peaceful university life. The campus will also feature faculty dormitory facilities with modern amenities. Upon completion, all departments will have their dedicated spaces and shared facilities, including:

Ø Multimedia lab for Journalism, Communication, and Media Studies (JCMS)

Ø Computer lab for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)

Ø Pharmacy lab

Ø Food Engineering lab

Ø Auditorium

Ø Separate dormitories for male and female students

Both the dormitories and academic buildings will offer free Wi-Fi and be monitored by a CCTV network, ensuring the safety and security of everyone on campus. The permanent campus of SUB is set to be a vibrant, first-class educational environment.
