Dr. Asif Nazrul (Md. Nazrul Islam) is an advisor to the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs of Bangladesh. He is a law teacher, researcher, columnist, and civil society activist. Currently, he is a professor of law at the University of Dhaka. Dr. Nazrul completed his PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, in 1999, and later undertook a post-doctoral fellowship at the Environmental Law Center in Bonn, Germany.
