Dr. Parvez Ahmed

Dr. Parvez Ahmed is an esteemed academic, legal expert, and researcher with over 20 years’ of experiences in legal education and practice. He holds a PhD in Corporate Law from Islamic University, Bangladesh, along with multiple LLM degrees including one in Air and Space Law from Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh, and another in International Business Law from the University of Gloucestershire, UK. Notably, he is among the first three professors in Bangladesh to hold an LLM in Air and Space Law. Before joining the State University of Bangladesh (SUB), Dr. Ahmed served as a Professor and Head of the Department of Law at different universities. His expertise spans Air and Space Law, International Trade Law, and Criminal Law along with significant contributions to academic governance, curriculum development and legal research. He is an enlisted Academic Auditor under the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) and a Quality Assurance (QA) Expert under the University Grants Commission (UGC). Throughout his career, he has held several key academic leadership roles, including Additional Director and Director of IQAC, Director of the Centre for International Affairs, Director of the Centre for Air and Space Law, Proctor, Member of Academic Councils etc. Dr. Ahmed has authored a Bangla translation of the "Cologne Commentary on Space Law", which is the very first book in Bangladesh on Outer Space law. He presented papers in numerous national and international conferences including Harvard Law School and the Hague Academy of International Law. In addition to academia, he has a strong legal professional background, having practiced law in Bangladesh and the UK specializing in corporate, civil and criminal law. Recognized for his contributions to legal academia, Dr. Ahmed was the first Bangladeshi to research space law at the Hague Academy, received a grant from the German Aerospace Center, and was awarded a UN scholarship for a space technology conference. His extensive work in quality assurance, legal research, and policy advisory solidifies his reputation as a distinguished scholar and legal professional. Dr. Ahmed has traveled to Belgium, France, India, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States (USA) for academic purposes.
