Cynthia Karim is a Lecturer in the State University of Bangladesh's law department and has been a member of the faculty since 2022. After earning her LLB (Hons) and LLM from the State University of Bangladesh, she joined her Alma Mater as a faculty member. She has experience of conducting research and has worked with a number of well-known national and international NGOs, including Ain o Salish Kendra, Justice and Care, Article 19, the International Labour Organization (ILO), Stefanus Alliance (Norwegian NGO) and others.

- Coach of the State University of Bangladesh Moot Court Society team in the 7th Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2023 (4th in Bangladesh Qualifying Rounds, 2nd in International Rounds).
- Adjudicator in the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competitions, Bangladesh Qualifying Rounds 2022.
- Adjudicated 30 International Memorials in the Philip C. Jessup International Rounds 2022.
- Former Jessuper (2019-2021): Winner against Russia and India in International Preliminary Rounds, 2021.
- Host at "Pre-Jessup Workshop: Orchestrating the Future, Analyzing the Past" organized by Jessup Bangladesh, ILSA, and the U.S. Department of Justice, 2021.

Research Projects
- Toolkit: Promoting Women and Youth in Civic Space (2022) - Funded by Article 19, including toolkit preparation, study report translation, and advocacy strategy development.
- Child-Friendly Case Management Guideline for Child Development Centres (2022) - Research funded by Ain O Salish Kendra (ASK) to identify gaps and propose rules for CDCs.
- Capacity Building for Lawyers on Freedom of Religion or Belief (2021-2022) - Online training funded by Stefanus Alliance, organized by ELCOP.
- Victim and Witness Protection Act Study (2019-2020) - Financed by Manusher Jonno Foundation; involved interviews with 1,000 victims and witnesses across 17 district courts.
