Zabid Ahasan Tarafder is an architect, born and brought up in Khulna, one of the southern cities of Bangladesh. After completing secondary and higher secondary at Barishal Cadet College(2015), his interest in painting and creative thinking made him complete a B.Arch. program from the (Discipline of Architecture, Khulna University). He completed his B.Arch. (2022) with a distinction grade and for that excellence in academic result he was awarded ‘Dean's award’. Now working as a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at the State University of Bangladesh. At the time of the undergraduate program, he was awarded with several awards for excellence in design studios named ‘Head list award’. He attended some of the national and international design competitions. One of his design projects was shortlisted in the international design competition named ‘Shundar Bari’.
Tarafder completed his internship with the architectural firm ‘Khan Zahid Architects’ and also worked as a full-time architect for the same organization. Besides this, he worked as a consultant for the Bangladesh Army at Barishal Cadet College and completed several projects there. Some of the projects are the main gate design of Barishal Cadet College (2022), Amphitheatre design of Barishal Cadet College (2022), College Canteen design of Barishal Cadet College (2022).
His research interest is the sustainable development of socio-spatial and economic conditions of sub-urban regions, followed by his undergraduate design thesis in the same area.
