Md. Ariful Islam is a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy at the State University of Bangladesh (SUB), South Purbachal, Kanchan, Dhaka-1461, Bangladesh, where he has been serving since July 2024. He worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy at Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU), Enayetpur, Sirajganj, from August 2022 to June 2024. He also served as a guest lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy at the Institute of Health Technology, Rajshahi, in 2021, and in the Department of Pharmacy at Shaheed M. Monsur Ali Institute of Health Technology, Sirajganj, in 2020.
He completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) and Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) degrees from the Department of Pharmacy, University of Rajshahi, in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Additionally, he worked as a research assistant in the Laboratory of Pharmaceutics at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Rajshahi, from 2019 to 2021. He was awarded a research grant from the National Science and Technology (NST) Division, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, to complete his M. Pharm thesis.
His main research interests include formulation development, controlled drug delivery, nano-pharmaceutics, nanotechnology, and targeted drug delivery. He has also successfully completed a three-month statistical computing certificate course on SPSS, Microsoft Excel, and research methodology at the Department of Statistics, University of Rajshahi.
