Tasmia Akter serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Food Engineering and Nutrition Science at the State University of Bangladesh. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in 2020 and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in 2021 from the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, University of Dhaka. Prior to joining the university, Tasmia Akter worked as a Research Fellow in the Food Toxicology Research Section of the Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST), Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), from April 2024 to September 2025. During her tenure, she gained substantial expertise in operating High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) for the analysis of mycotoxins and caffeine, and Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC–MS) for pesticide analysis, along with practical experience in fungal isolation and identification from food samples. Her research interests primarily focus on food toxicology and food microbiology, with a particular emphasis on the safety and quality assessment of food products.
