Sharafat Zaman Saurov

Sharafat Zaman Saurov is a dedicated academic and emerging architect, born and brought up in a small town in the Jhenaidah district of Bangladesh. His curiosity about people, places, and the built environment guided him toward studying architecture. He completed his Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree from the Architecture Discipline, Khulna University, in 2023, graduating with distinction. During his academic journey, he was placed on the Head’s List for Design Excellence multiple times and received several Merit Scholarships, along with the prestigious ARCHKU Berger Award for Academic Excellence (2021) in recognition of his outstanding performance. Sharafat began his academic career as a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Fareast International University, where he contributed to teaching and research in architectural design and theory. Now working as a lecturer in the Department of Architecture at the State University of Bangladesh, continuing his dedication to academic excellence and design exploration. His research interests include landscape urbanism, rural settlement transformation, and sustainable design approaches in contemporary architectural practice. Beyond academics, Sharafat is passionate about photography and exploring new cities, pursuits that continue to inspire his architectural thinking and creative expression.
