Nehal Uddin is currently working as a lecturer in the Department of Food Engineering and Nutrition Science at State University of Bangladesh. He completed his B.Sc. in Food Engineering from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 2024 and completed an industrial internship at Igloo Ice Cream and Dairy (Abdul Monem Ltd.). During his undergraduate tenure, he gained hands-on expertise in operating analytical instruments including UV–vis spectrophotometer, viscometer, texture analyzer, Stereomicroscope, vacuum rotary evaporator, and freeze dryer. His research interests include identification of microplastics in food, food preservation through edible coatings, phytochemical applications, postharvest physiology of fruits and vegetables. He has undertaken various food-sector trainings and actively participates in food-related academic activities.
National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship (2025-26): Awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Bangladesh, for research on “Identification, Quantification and Characterization of Microplastics in uncooked chicken samples of different breeds.”
Academic Distinction: Achieved 5th position in his Bachelor’s program in Food Engineering, out of 55 students.
Academic Excellence: Awarded Best Student Performance 2015 recognition by the BBS Foundation for academic excellence and received Meritorious Student Reception from JF Trust in 2015 for SSC
