Mr. Md. Ariful Islam is, at present, holding the position of Lecturer at the Department of Pharmacy, State University of Bangladesh. He has accomplished his Bachelor of Professional Pharmacy degree from the University of Dhaka with a cGPA of 3.93 (4th position in order of merit). He also accomplished his Master of Pharmacy degree from the same institution with a GPA of 3.97 securing 2nd position in order of merit. He conducted a project work in the final year of his B. Pharm. course entitled “A short review on Immunotherapy: A potential weapon to fight against cancer.”He also conducted his M. Pharm. thesis work entitled “Investigation of Chemical Constituents and Biological Activities of Glycosmis cyanocarpa of Family Rutaceae.” He received the National Science and Technology (NST) fellowship, 2020-21 from the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh for his Master’s thesis work. His research work was focused on the extraction, isolation and characterization of various bioactive compounds from different plant parts and assessing the biological impacts of those compounds. In addition of his entrancing academics, he also had industrial training experiences from Radiant Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and a six-month hospital training experience from Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. His core interest is to identify and characterize the components of traditionally used herbal and homeopathic drugs.
